UGA Graduate Students place at ESA

Congratulations to UGA entomology graduate students who placed in the student competitions at the National Entomological Society of America meeting in November, 2023.

Kelly Tims was awarded first place in the Graduate PBT: Genetics and Genomics category and Carissa Gilliland placed second in this category. Tims is a PhD student in Gaelen Burke’s lab and Gilliland is a PhD student in Kevin Vogel’s lab.

Thomas Patrick “Sam” Dunn was awarded first place in the Graduate PBT: Insecticide Resistance category. Dunn is a PhD student under Don Champagne.

Subin Neupane secured second place in the Graduate P-EI: Biocontrol-Parasitoids category. Neupane is a PhD student in the Ash Sial lab.

Several other students participated in the highly competitive events and the UGA Debate Team made its debut.
